Nigerian author Kachi Ohiaeri has sparked an engaging discussion online after sharing that a simple question from her mother led her to stop watching NSPPD, the popular early morning prayer and ministry programme.
In a Facebook post shared on July 12, 2026, Ohiaeri explained that her exchange with her mother prompted her to examine her true reason for following the broadcast.
According to her, the conversation forced her to confront her own motivations with complete honesty. She said the question her mother asked left her with no convincing response.
Instead of trying to justify why she watched the programme, Ohiaeri acknowledged that her primary interest had not been spiritual growth or cultivating a closer relationship with God.
Rather, she admitted that she was mainly drawn to the programme in hopes of receiving miracles, while the preaching itself was of secondary importance.
“I told her we are the latter and preaching is a side,” she wrote. The confession, she suggested, became the deciding factor that made her discontinue watching the broadcast.
