Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of late Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has disclosed the reasons behind her ongoing conflict with her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba.
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television, she addressed several sensitive issues, including her deteriorated relationship with Mohbad’s father, the controversy surrounding her son Liam’s DNA, and the growing tension over the estate of her late husband.
Wunmi Aloba alleged that her father-in-law is strongly hoping that the DNA test of her son would come out negative and fail to confirm paternity.
She claimed that the matter has gone beyond a family disagreement and has now become a struggle over the control of the late singer’s properties and royalties.
She said: “Baba Mohbad wants something I can’t give him. He wants the DNA of my child to be negative.”
Surprisingly, Wunmi revealed that she and Mohbad’s father once shared a good relationship, but things reportedly changed after she gave birth to Liam. According to her, issues began to surface during the naming ceremony and around Mohbad’s reconciliation with his mother.
Additionally, she claimed that since Mohbad’s death, her father-in-law has become more focused on discussions concerning the singer’s assets.
“After my husband’s death and the whole issue started, I called him, and all he was talking about was my husband’s property,”
She also refuted claims that she resisted the process of conducting a DNA test on her son, stressing that she remains fully open to carrying out the test.
