Bishop David Oyedepo made a surprise appearance at Pastor William Kumuyi’s Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) in Ota, Ogun State, on Friday, August 29, 2026.
The Living Faith Church founder joined the programme themed “Total Transformation in Christ” and later took to the pulpit to minister to the congregation.
However, a moment involving Oyedepo and Kumuyi has attracted significant attention online after a video from the event surfaced on social media.
In the clip, a protocol officer initially appeared to direct Oyedepo towards the designated guest pulpit. However, Oyedepo paused and looked towards Kumuyi, seemingly awaiting further direction.
Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, then gestured towards his personal reserved pulpit, indicating that Oyedepo should use it instead.
The gesture has been widely celebrated by viewers, with many interpreting it as a demonstration of honour and mutual respect between the two respected Nigerian clerics.
The moment was particularly notable because Kumuyi’s personal pulpit is regarded as a reserved space, making his decision to allow another minister to preach from it an unusual gesture.
The brief exchange quickly gained traction online as social media users shared the footage and discussed the relationship between the two prominent Christian leaders.
Oyedepo’s appearance at the crusade also added significance to the event, bringing together two influential figures in Nigeria’s evangelical community.
The viral clip has since generated reactions from viewers who described Kumuyi’s gesture as a powerful display of humility, respect and brotherly love.
