A Nigerian medical expert, Dr. Shina, has addressed the widespread rumours surrounding the health status of socialite Sam Larry after reports linked him to a fatal road accident.
The physician rejected claims circulating across social media suggesting the socialite could lose his legs through amputation due to an alleged major spinal cord injury.
Earlier reports indicated that Sam Larry was involved in a devastating accident on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway when the vehicle transporting him reportedly crashed into a trailer.
The crash was said to have claimed the life of his bouncer, Adewale, who reportedly died on the spot. Following the incident, Sam Larry was rushed to a hospital, where he is said to be undergoing medical treatment.
In the aftermath of the accident, several unverified reports began circulating online about the severity of his injuries. Among the most widely shared claims was that Sam Larry had suffered what was described as a Major Spinal Cord Injury (MSCI).
The speculation intensified after an X user with the handle @ONYEKAIQS posted what was alleged to be a screenshot of a private conversation involving one of the socialite’s associates.
The purported exchange claimed that the injuries might ultimately result in the amputation of one or both of Sam Larry’s legs.
Responding to the viral claim, Dr. Shina advised Nigerians not to accept the information without proper verification, noting that the medical explanation contained obvious inconsistencies.
According to him, there were clear medical inconsistencies in the claim. “Something is wrong with this chat. You don’t do an amputation because someone had a spinal cord injury. Try and be sure of this source,” he wrote.
