The Nigerian entertainment scene is grieving the loss of veteran Fuji star Alhaji Love Azeez Oladeji, a revered performer who was widely recognized as the oldest active musician within the Fuji music community.
According to reports, the legendary singer passed away on Wednesday after a short illness. He was 81 years old.
News of his passing was confirmed by Adekunle Abiodun, the General Secretary of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN).

Abiodun shared the announcement on Facebook, where he expressed sorrow over the loss and honored the late artiste’s contributions to the industry.
In his tribute, the FUMAN official affectionately referred to the deceased as “Baba wa,” a phrase commonly used to show deep respect and admiration for a highly esteemed elder. Following Islamic burial rites, Alhaji Love Azeez Oladeji was laid to rest on Thursday, June 18.
