Osun State First Lady Ngozi Adeleke has spoken proudly about her husband, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and his popular reputation as Nigeria’s “dancing governor.”
Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, Ngozi said she has never been embarrassed by her husband’s love for dancing, stressing that it was part of his personality long before he ventured into politics.
She said:
“I feel good. My husband did not start dancing today. I got to meet with him when he schooled in the US. They called him Jackson because of his dancing skills.”
Ngozi Recalls Their Wedding
The First Lady also recalled their traditional wedding ceremony, describing it as an unforgettable celebration because of Adeleke’s energetic dancing.
According to her, the governor danced from morning until the following day, while veteran musician Shina Peters performed at the event.
She said:
“I don’t think my village people have ever seen that type of wedding up till today. They still talk about it.”
Ngozi explained that she did not marry a politician, noting that Adeleke’s elder brother was the family member involved in politics when they met.
She also offered a glimpse into life at home, describing her husband as someone who rarely has a dull moment.
According to her, Adeleke is either dancing, singing or praising God when he is not occupied with official duties. She added that he was once a choir member and could both sing and play the drums.
The First Lady humorously noted that she is the only person in their household who cannot dance.
“With him, no dull moment,” she said.
