Veteran Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has triggered reactions online after sharing details of a recent conversation he had with his daughter, Danielle Edochie.
The actor revealed that he met his daughter in Lagos last week, adding that she was accompanied by her mother, his estranged wife, May Edochie.
According to him, Danielle came to greet him, and he took the moment to advise her on issues surrounding her recent social media controversy.
This comes after a viral video in which Danielle was seen speaking passionately about men and broader societal issues.
In the clip, she criticized the male gender, describing them as jobless for constantly attempting to undermine women’s pursuit of justice in sensitive cases.
She said:
“Men, you people are very jobless. The moment something happens to a woman and everything is trying to fight for their justice that you’ll remember, oh, Us too – shut up. If you cared about yourself, you’ll speak up when you have issues not when women have issues…”
Speaking, Yul Edochie said he advised his daughter to avoid insulting people online when expressing her opinions on sensitive topics.
He emphasized that views can be communicated clearly and strongly without resorting to disrespect.
He said:
“Last week, I saw her, I was in Lagos for our court stuff. She came with the mother and I told her to come and hug me. I told her, you too stubborn oh, and she started laughing. I said insult, don’t insult people on the Internet. I told her that it is okay if you have your opinions on things, but no matter what you do, don’t go out insulting people.”
