Nigerian author Bright Adaugo Mbaegbu has drawn attention to a striking detail she discovered after visiting the verified Instagram profile of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
Posting a screenshot of the actor’s Instagram page, Bright pointed out that despite his achievements, wealth, honours, and numerous titles, Alexx chose to identify himself with the simple description, “human being.”
In a Facebook post shared on June 20, Bright reflected on the significance of that choice, stating that the late actor’s bio suggested he recognised that being human comes before status, accomplishments, or recognition.
She further explained that this belief appeared to shape his outlook on life and influenced the way he interacted with the world around him.
In her words: “With all the titles, awards, money, affluence etc. “He just described himself as “HUMAN BEING” cause he understood that we are first Human before anything else and that understanding governs him and how he saw and lived his life. Rest in power Ikuku.”
The author’s observation sparked reactions from internet users, many of whom agreed with the message she derived from the late actor’s profile description.
