The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has retained 150 as the minimum admissible score, popularly known as the cut-off mark, for admission into universities for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The decision was announced on Monday, May 11, 2026, during JAMB’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja.
According to reports, the decision followed deliberations and votes by vice-chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions present at the meeting.
Cut-Off Marks for Other Institutions
During the meeting, stakeholders in the education sector also agreed on the minimum admissible scores for other categories of tertiary institutions across the country.
It was agreed that Colleges of Nursing should maintain a minimum admissible score of 150, while polytechnics would adopt 100 as their cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
The resolutions were reached unanimously by heads of tertiary institutions attending the policy meeting.
