Chiamaka Mary-Jane Egesimba, the founder of Foodsandmore Enterprises, has shared her emotional reaction after receiving a business grant from the Jerry Eze Foundation.
The entrepreneur took to social media to celebrate the achievement, posting a photo of herself holding a $3,000 cheque awarded to support her business.
In her post, Chiamaka described the grant as more than just financial assistance, noting that it represents recognition, encouragement, and a sign that her efforts have not gone unnoticed.
She reflected on the highly competitive selection process, revealing that thousands of applicants participated, with only a small number eventually chosen, making her selection particularly meaningful.
She also opened up about the realities of running a business, explaining that while entrepreneurs often appear strong publicly, they face private struggles such as financial pressures, customer demands, and moments of uncertainty.
According to her, receiving the grant felt like a timely boost and reassurance to keep pushing forward.
Chiamaka expressed deep gratitude to the foundation for supporting small businesses and acknowledged the impact such initiatives can have on entrepreneurs striving to grow.
She encouraged others working quietly on their ventures not to give up, noting that opportunities can arise unexpectedly. Her message resonated with many online, who praised her perseverance and celebrated her achievement.
Sharing a photo of her holding a $3000 cheque, she wrote:
“Today my business Foodsandmore Enterprises won a business grant of $3,000 dollars 😭😭😭
I have looked at this picture over and over again, and honestly, words are failing me.
Because this is not just a cheque.
This is a reminder that God still sees people.
Over 16,000 people applied.
Over 9,000 completed the process.
Only 240 people were selected.
And somehow, my name was there.
Me.
I don’t take it lightly at all.
As a business owner, there are days you are strong in public but tired in private.
Days you are calculating costs, managing customers, dealing with disappointments, trying to stay consistent, and still praying that all the effort will one day make sense.
So to receive this kind of support feels deeply personal.
It feels like encouragement.
It feels like a push.
It feels like God saying, “I see you. Keep going.”
Thank you to the Jerry Eze Foundation for this gift, for this support, and for choosing to pour into small businesses like mine.
Thank you for seeing FoodsandMore Enterprises.
To everyone building something quietly, please don’t give up.
Your work may feel hidden today, but grace can call your name in rooms you did not even enter.
I am grateful.
I am humbled.
I am encouraged.
Thank you Jesus.
Thank you Jerry Eze Foundation.”
This one touched my heart deeply.
