Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has shown public support for her colleague Iyabo Ojo following the controversy surrounding the premiere of The Return of Arinzo.
The movie premiere, which attracted a host of celebrities, quickly became a trending topic after a viral moment captured Funke appearing to ignore Toyin Abraham when she approached to greet her.
The incident sparked reactions online, eventually leading Toyin to unfollow Funke on Instagram and declare she would never greet her.
Amid the backlash, Iyabo Ojo addressed the situation on social media, explaining what led to the tension and placing responsibility on Toyin Abraham for allegedly going against a prior agreement between both parties.
Her comments, however, divided opinions, with some fans accusing her of taking sides in the dispute.
Amid the saga, Funke Akindele appeared to align herself with Iyabo Ojo. The two actresses later teamed up in a joint promotional post to push the upcoming movie.
In the post, Funke Akindele urged fans to turn up massively to watch Iyabo’s The Return of Arinzo.
She also sent a special congratulations to Iyabo Ojo over the project.
