A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of three members of the All Progressives Congress who were travelling to attend a party event in Lafia.
The victims, all youth leaders from Ogbadibo Local Government Area in Benue State, were identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin, Hon. Ogbe Enemari, and Hon. Abraham Enenche.
They were reportedly on their way to the party’s North Central Zonal Congress when the accident occurred along the Makurdi–Lafia highway on Wednesday, 25th March 2026.
Sadly, the three men died at the scene, while other members of the delegation sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care.
The incident has drawn emotional reactions from political figures and party members.
Former Benue South senatorial candidate, Daniel Onjeh, expressed deep grief over the loss, describing it as a painful blow to the party.
He noted that the deceased were active grassroots mobilisers whose contributions played a key role in strengthening the APC in their area.
He extended his condolences to their families and the wider party community, urging members to remain united during this difficult time while also praying for the recovery of those injured.
Also reacting, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro described the incident as devastating, especially given that multiple lives were lost from the same local government.
He sympathised with the affected families and prayed for strength and comfort for those mourning the loss.
