Nollywood actor, Femi Adewole aka Femi Apefe has spoken out after being accused online of being responsible for the pregnancy linked to Aunty Ajara’s death.
The actress reportedly passed away after suffering complications related to pregnancy as well as liver-related health issues.
Before her death, colleagues and supporters had taken to social media to appeal for financial and emotional support as her health condition worsened.
Videos showing her in critical condition also circulated online, prompting many people to offer prayers and support.
However, after reports emerged that the actress had been pregnant, old videos showing Apefe with Aunty Ajara resurfaced online, leading some social media users to accuse him of being responsible.
In response, Apefe released a video on his official Instagram page to address the rumours and explain the nature of their relationship.
According to him, he met the actress about two years ago and quickly recognised her natural talent for acting. He said they became friends and collaborators, and he often invited her to appear in movie shoots and skits he produced.
The actor explained that the viral clips fueling the rumours were from a comedy skit they created together.
In the skit, Aunty Ajara acted as a pregnant woman, a storyline that drew attention from viewers. The scene was recorded at his residence, which he believes sparked the speculation that he had impregnated her.
Apefe insisted that the pregnancy in question was only part of the scripted skit and maintained that he had no knowledge of any real pregnancy involving the late actress.
He also noted that although Aunty Ajara sometimes struggled with self-confidence because of her stature, he always admired her acting ability and supported her career.
