A Nigerian man identified on Instagram as Kingsley Nwangene has written extensively about singer Ifunanya, alias Nanyah’s demise, which tragically occurred due to a snake bite.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Kingsley Nwangene (unverified reports claim he is the deceased singer’s brother) narrated how Nanyah called him at 8:30am on Saturday, 31st January 2026 to inform him that she was on her way to the hospital due to a snake bite.
He revealed that they were on call as she arrived at the first hospital, Divine Health Hospital, Trade Mall Road, Lugbe, Abuja, but they said anti-venom wasn’t available.

Kingsley noted that Nanyah had to book a ride to Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, arriving at 10am.
He revealed that at this point, Nanyah was still talking well as the health personnel took her into the emergency unit and began asking her countless questions.
When asked if they had anti-venom, Kingsley Nwangene noted that the hospital said they’ll administer a drip instead, then the doctor went ahead to remove the bandage Nanyah tied on her hand to halt the spread of the venom.
He noted that after some moments into the drip, she began to feel dizzy and that was how everything went south.
Kingsley Nwangene called out the doctor for removing her bandage. He added that the doctors are lying that the snake bit her about one day ago and when she arrived at the hospital, it was too late, meanwhile she went to the hospital herself.
