Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party won 19 of Osun State’s 30 Local Government Areas in the just-concluded governorship election, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, secured victories in 11 LGAs.
According to the results shown in the graphic, Adeleke’s Accord Party won Ayedaade, Ayedire, Boluwaduro, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ifedayo, Ifelodun, Ila, Ilesa West, Iwo, Odo-Otin, Oriade, Orolu and Osogbo.
The APC, meanwhile, won Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Boripe, Ife South, Ilesa East, Irepodun, Irewole, Isokan, Obokun, Ola-Oluwa and Olorunda.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), whose candidate was Najeem Salaam, did not win any of the 30 local government areas.
The LGA breakdown highlights the competitive nature of the election, with Adeleke securing a majority of the councils to retain the governorship.
INEC subsequently declared Adeleke the winner after the collation of results, with the Accord candidate polling 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.
The final outcome gave Adeleke a margin of 66,252 votes, securing him another four-year term as Osun State governor.
