A woman caused a stir during a recent Holy Ghost service at Redemption City after interrupting Pastor Enoch Adeboye while he was ministering and making her way towards the altar to demand ordination from the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Footage of the incident, which was shared on Instagram, captured the moment the woman approached the altar area while Pastor Adeboye was addressing the congregation.
The incident happened inside what appeared to be a large church auditorium with “Mountain Movers” signage, as a large congregation watched the unusual development unfold.
Woman explains why she interrupted Adeboye
The woman later explained why she had interrupted the service and approached the revered cleric.
According to her, she had attended a church service the previous day, where she claimed she was ordained.
However, she returned the following day to attend the Holy Ghost service, insisting that her ordination was supposed to take place there.
She reportedly explained that no one had been seated at the other church during the earlier service, leading her to believe that the proper place for her ordination was at the Holy Ghost service with Pastor Adeboye.
Rather than immediately dismissing the woman or ordering her away, Adeboye initially allowed her to come closer.
The cleric repeatedly instructed those around him to allow the woman through before listening to her explanation.
After hearing her out, Adeboye offered a prayer on her behalf.
Pastor Adeboye responds to the woman
Following the woman’s explanation, Adeboye prayed for her, committing her situation to God and asking for divine intervention in her affairs.
He subsequently explained that matters concerning ordination could not simply be handled based on the woman’s request, stressing that he would first need to hear from God.
Adeboye also noted that no letter had been presented to him concerning her case.
He then told her: “Your time will come. Go home,” before asking the congregation to shout “Hallelujah.”
The pastor subsequently used the unexpected interruption as an opportunity to teach the congregation.
Adeboye reminded the worshippers that the kingdom of God is taken by force, encouraging them to approach God directly with their challenges and ask Him for the miracles they still desire.
The unusual encounter has since attracted attention online, with footage of the woman approaching the altar and speaking to Adeboye generating reactions among social media users.
