The Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, has confirmed the death of its Spiritual Father, His Most Eminence Emmanuel Alogbo.
According to a statement issued by the church on Thursday and reported by The PUNCH Newspaper, the revered cleric passed away at the age of 93.
The announcement, signed by the church’s Secretary-General, Prophet Anthony Olusesan Samaye, stated that Alogbo died peacefully in the early hours of July 30, 2026.
The church disclosed that the spiritual leader passed on at approximately 2:10 a.m. at his residence in Lagos, with members of his family and domestic staff by his side.
Church reveals circumstances surrounding his passing
While announcing the sad development, the church paid tribute to Alogbo, describing him as a faithful servant of God whose lifetime was devoted to ministry, leadership, and service to humanity.
“With gratitude to God Almighty for a life well spent… our Spiritual Father was called to glory in the early hours of today,” part of the statement read.
News of his death has cast a mood of mourning across the church, especially among members who had regarded him as a spiritual guide and mentor for several decades.
To countless worshippers, Alogbo’s passing marks the end of a significant era in the history of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide.
Recognised as one of Nigeria’s longest-serving church leaders, he was instrumental in broadening the reach and impact of the church both across Nigeria and internationally.
In honour of the late cleric, the church also announced that seven days of prayer sessions will be held at his Lagos residence as part of the mourning activities.
