Solomon Buchi, a writer and social commentator, has openly expressed reservations about the forthcoming marriage between Nigerian TikTok stars Peller and Jarvis, with only a few days left before their highly anticipated wedding scheduled for August 1, 2026.
Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page on July 28, Buchi emphasized that his comments were not driven by negativity or ill intentions.
He explained that he strongly supports the idea of people getting married at a young age but believes that youth alone cannot guarantee a successful marriage.
“I love early marriages, when young people get married early. But I think that should come with a level of maturity, openness to advice and mentorship,” he said.
To reinforce his perspective, Buchi pointed to his own family, revealing that his sister got married at the age of 22 while her husband was 25.
He noted that the pair have now spent more than five years together, and possibly close to seven, building what he described as a truly happy home because they embraced guidance, mentorship, and personal growth throughout their marriage.
Buchi’s warning on resentment before marriage
Among the issues Solomon Buchi highlighted was a previous livestream clip in which Jarvis, while clearly emotional, told Peller that he could reclaim the car he had bought for her. According to Buchi, that particular moment raised serious concerns for him.
“I don’t think weeks to a wedding, a woman should be that pissed off that she’s saying you can take back a car you got for her. No matter how annoyed she is, that shouldn’t be the response,” he said.
He advised the couple to settle any unresolved disagreements before exchanging vows, stressing that if resentment still existed between them, they should seriously consider delaying the wedding or even calling it off altogether.
“Don’t get into marriage with resentment. And if you have unresolved resentment, postpone the marriage or cancel it,” Buchi warned.
Looking beyond Peller and Jarvis specifically, Buchi also reflected on the realities of married life, saying it requires far more than the lifestyle associated with social media content creation that the couple is known for.
“Marriage is a very serious institution. It’s more than streaming. It’s more than fooling around on social media. It’s more than cameras. It is going to stretch you,” he said.
He concluded his message with a personal piece of advice directed at Jarvis:
“Jarvis needs to accept Peller for who he really is, or just don’t marry him.”
Although his remarks were frank and cautionary, Solomon Buchi ended on a positive note by expressing his sincere hope that the couple enjoys the best possible future together.
He also encouraged them to seek wisdom and surround themselves with trusted mentors as they prepare to begin married life.
