An X user identified as @Ayanfe_101 has shared his perspective on the late National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chieftain, Toba Ajiboye Ijaya, amid the widespread tributes that have followed his death.
According to the social media user, he grew up in Fadeyi, Lagos, and lived in the area for more than two decades.
Based on his personal experience, he argued that some of the positive narratives currently circulating about Ijaya do not reflect the full picture of his time in the community.
While acknowledging that many people regarded Ijaya as a philanthropist, the X user alleged that the late union leader was also among individuals who contributed to violence and unrest in Fadeyi over several years.
He claimed that the incidents took place between 2008 and around 2019 before peace was eventually restored.
The user further alleged that Ijaya led groups that reportedly terrorised several communities, including Toll Gate, Onipanu, Fadeyi, Ayonuga and Ogunjobi.
Expressing surprise at the public praise being directed at the late NURTW chieftain, the X user questioned why many people appeared to be overlooking the allegations he associated with Ijaya’s past.

I grew up in Fadeyi and spent 20 something years of my life there. I can tell you for a fact that most things they painted about TOBA AJIBOYE isn’t entirely true. He might be a philanthropist but this same person was part of those that Terrorised fadeyi.
From early 2008 up until around 2019 that everything was settled.
So I’m really surprised about this whole hype you’re giving the same person that led groups that terrorised a whole community from Toll gate- Onipanu-Fadeyi- Ayonuga- Ogunjobi. We all know what we are doing sha.”

I also grow up in that area and I also can tell u for a fact that not everything u said is true here.i am not a union member neither am I eating from him but I will not lie on a soul who is gone.tobi yes was someone u can say started rough with life when he join opc but he use the level of opc to safe the area from thief and criminal but when he join union things change bcoz the game was a dangerous one also baba alado and no case came for his life so he as to defend himself and his boys which after a long battle everything was settled.yes alot of lives where lost but can we blame it on toba alone ? baba alado who was an elderly man with no shame was alive fill today and nothing was done to him by the government.he is a true man of peace when he was alive even do he could not help it when he is been confronted and even if he doesn’t want to fight he as alot of boys around who will instantly defend him or face anyone who face him cause the loyalty he also pledge to them and they to him
