People process grief in different ways, and for Alexx Ekubo’s elder sister, Chioma, that journey has unfolded publicly, drawing both sympathy and criticism from social media users.
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Chioma uploaded a video to Instagram showing herself sitting in Alexx’s chair inside his residence.
Visible behind her was a large portrait of the late actor mounted on the wall, while several of his award plaques and trophies could be seen displayed on nearby shelves. Although Chioma did not indicate when the footage was recorded, a number of fans insisted it was an old clip taken before Alexx Ekubo’s passing.
Accompanying the video was an emotional tribute in which Chioma reflected on the loss of her brother, writing:
“Agu Nnaya, it’s been two months of your exit from this sinful world and this seat of yours keeps rocking without you on it, I don’t even fit in, I don’t intend to either cause these shoes are too large you left behind. I would live all my life filled with your memories with each passing day. The only Peace I have is knowing you are in a better place void of pains and sorrows. I’m sure you now see how much I Love you and still Love you, Nnam. Keep resting Easy the EAGLE. You LIVE in me.”
Fans question the timing of Chioma’s post
The video quickly generated widespread reactions, but many of the comments focused less on the tribute itself and more on when it was shared.
Some followers questioned why Chioma chose to post the video after Alexx Ekubo’s burial, suggesting they would have expected such expressions of affection while he was still alive.
