A lady identified on X as @itzchristunique has sparked widespread conversation online after drawing a striking comparison between the rescued Oyo schoolchildren and teachers and the victims of the Ekiti church kidnapping, raising questions that many Nigerians have since echoed across social media.
In her post, she noted that the Ekiti church kidnap victims, who spent 67 days in captivity, were visibly frail upon their rescue, with many barely able to walk and still wearing the same clothes they had on when they were abducted.
In contrast, the Oyo schoolchildren and teachers, who spent 57 days in captivity, appeared noticeably different upon their rescue, looking cheerful, active and even energetic in videos that circulated online.
She also observed that the Oyo victims appeared to have changed their clothing more than once during their time in captivity.
Beyond the physical comparison, she raised a more pressing concern about the numbers, pointing out that over 40 individuals were abducted in Oyo State but fewer than 34 were accounted for among those rescued, questioning what became of the remaining victims.
Her post has resonated deeply with Nigerians who have continued to ask similar questions, with many calling for transparency and a full account of everyone who was taken from the Oriire community.

Ekiti people was on the same cloth they wore when they were taken.
Oyo people changed cloth more than twice..
