Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has opened up about the one firm condition her husband, actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, laid down after catching her smoking, describing it as a statement she has never forgotten.
Speaking during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actress showered praise on her husband, describing him as the greatest blessing in her life and crediting his understanding nature for the success of their marriage.
She said:
“My husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, is the best thing that has happened to me. He lets me be me.”
In a surprising confession, Toyin revealed that she once smoked cigarettes and still vapes occasionally.
She disclosed that while pregnant, her husband repeatedly advised her to stop for her health and the baby’s wellbeing.
However, after giving birth, she resumed the habit and her husband witnessed it firsthand.
Rather than reacting with anger, Kolawole calmly delivered a message that left a lasting impression on her.
According to Toyin, he told her:
“I won’t ask you not to smoke or drink, but if my child picks up the habit from you, that is the end of the marriage.”
The actress noted that the statement reflected how deeply her husband values their children’s upbringing, even while giving her the freedom to live life on her own terms.
Toyin also revealed that Kolawole has never objected to her kissing fellow actors in romantic scenes, saying he understands that acting is her profession and views such scenes strictly as part of the job.
