Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has responded to critics after a viral video showing him in Abuja triggered widespread concern about his wellbeing.
The clip captured the actor seated by the roadside in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja. As it circulated across social media platforms, many Nigerians began raising questions about his health and overall condition.
In a fresh video shared by a man who said he encountered the actor on Tuesday, Anuku appeared relaxed and composed while responding to the public attention surrounding the footage.
Rejecting the growing speculation, the veteran actor urged Nigerians to channel their attention toward the country’s more urgent challenges rather than focusing on him.
He asserted: “Y’all haven’t seen anything yet. Y’all should face your government and leave me the hell alone. If you don’t have a better thing to do, go do something; I’m good,”
Anuku’s response follows several days of heated discussions online, where the roadside video drew varying reactions from fans and other social media users.

Earlier reports revealed that an eyewitness, identified as X user @Anthony Ehilebo, posted footage showing the actor seated in a grassy area while holding what appeared to be a cup.
Although the precise location was not disclosed, Ehilebo maintained that the video was recorded in Abuja.
“Hanks Anuku… sighted on the streets of Abuja.. Mental health Coverage in Nigeria is shiit.” @AnthonyEhilebo wrote and the video quickly drew reactions online.
One netizen, @LSdolor13846, cautioned against spreading old clips for engagement: “Pls ppl should stop posting things like this for engagements, likes n views, this was the same video someone posted few yrs ago wen dey said dey saw him in Edo state Benin city n he was on set dat day.”
Ehilebo, however, dismissed that claim, stressing that the video was recent and authentic: “There was no set.. I saw him and made this video myself.. He was pissed.. and did not look good.. He needs help.. mental help assistance…”
