Popular actress Ridani Ghani, who rose to prominence in the 1990s, has died after battling ovarian cancer. She passed away at Selayang Hospital this morning at the age of 52.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her close friend, Yaya Maembong.
“I have just received news that Ridani passed away at around 7 am today. Her remains will be taken to the Bukit Damansara Mosque for funeral management,” she told BH Online.

Ridani was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October last year. Her condition worsened in recent days, leading to her admission to Selayang Hospital last Saturday.
She was subsequently transferred to the Palliative Care Ward, where she received treatment.
Just yesterday, her eldest son, Muhammad Faris Syamir Jaafar, 35, revealed that his mother’s health had become increasingly critical.
Earlier, radio presenter Sharifah Shahirah, better known as Shiera, also informed the public through social media that Ridani’s condition was unstable while she was undergoing treatment.
Ridani is survived by her two children, Faris and Muhammad Faiq Faisal Jaafar, 33.
Over the course of her acting career, she featured in a number of well-known television dramas, including Romeo dan Juliet, Kilauan, and the popular series Spektra.
