A throwback interview featuring veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has resurfaced online following his death on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.
The interview, originally published by Oyinmomo TV on July 4, 2025, showed the late actor speaking openly about his prolonged health struggles and the difficult period he endured before seeking medical help.
Ogogo Recalls Seven-Year Battle With Ulcer
During the interview, Ogogo revealed that he had battled a severe ulcer for several years, a condition that reportedly left him struggling with basic activities and eating.
The actor recounted experiencing episodes of vomiting blood and described how severe the pain became at one point.
“I spent six, seven years battling this illness, ulcer. I would vomit blood. For seven months I prayed while sitting,” he said.
Ogogo also spoke about the extent to which the illness affected his ability to eat. According to him, his condition became so severe that even a small quantity of food could trigger vomiting.
He said that at the worst point of his illness, cornmeal was reportedly the only food his body could tolerate.

Ogogo said he eventually underwent medical examinations at King Solomon Hospital, where doctors carried out a scan and informed him that the ulcer had caused significant internal damage.
He also attributed part of his health difficulties to his habit of self-medicating whenever he came down with malaria.
