Governor Biodun Oyebanji secured a commanding victory at his polling unit in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election held on Saturday, June 20.
At Polling Unit 03, Ward 06, located in Ekiti West Local Government Area, Oyebanji recorded 326 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to TheCable, the African Democratic Party (ADP) received one vote, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) garnered two votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) secured one vote.
As previously reported, Governor Oyebanji, who took the oath of office as the Governor of Ekiti State on Sunday, October 16, 2022, is seeking another term in office through the current election.
The APC flagbearer is facing competition from 13 other aspirants representing various political parties. Although a total of 14 candidates are on the ballot, political observers have largely identified three individuals as the principal contenders in the race.

Nigerians predict winner of Ekiti governorship election
Ahead of the Saturday, June 20 governorship election, residents of Ekiti State headed to the polls amid widespread discussions and predictions on social media platforms.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the incumbent seeking re-election, emerged as the frontrunner among the leading candidates contesting the election.
A poll conducted by Legit.ng showed that 56% of respondents backed Oyebanji, while Oluyede and Bejide attracted lower levels of support.
Fayose predicts winner of Ekiti governorship election
Meanwhile, as earlier reported, the former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose has predicted an overwhelming victory for Governor Oyebanji in the ongoing election.
With the Ekiti State governorship election taking place on Saturday, June 20, and Oyebanji seeking a second term in office, Fayose voiced strong confidence in the governor’s chances after casting his ballot in Afao-Ekiti.
