The personal bodyguard of late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo has shared an emotional account of what he considers the final act of service he carried out for the actor before his death.
Speaking during the actor’s wake-keep ceremony held in Arochukwu, Abia State, Miracle reflected on the heartbreaking experience of performing a duty that had long been part of his daily life with the movie star.
As he paid tribute, Miracle explained that the pain of losing Alexx Ekubo went beyond hearing the devastating news of his passing.
For him, the most difficult aspect has been coming to terms with the routines and habits that had become second nature after years of working closely with the actor.
He recalled approaching Alexx’s room in the same manner he always had, expecting another ordinary day. Instead, he was confronted with a reality he still found difficult to accept.
“Doc, I opened your door as I always do, expecting you to step out. I stood there hoping and praying that this wasn’t real, but you didn’t step out,” he said.
Miracle revealed that the moment remains one of the most painful memories he carries, as it marked the abrupt end of a routine that had defined his years of dedication and commitment to the actor.
He admitted that even after Alexx’s death, he found himself instinctively wanting to continue with the responsibilities he had faithfully carried out for so long.
According to him, tasks that once felt ordinary and professional now serve as constant reminders of the void left behind. Every familiar action, he said, brings back memories of the actor and highlights the reality of his absence.
The grieving bodyguard described Alexx Ekubo as more than an employer, saying the late actor occupied the role of both mentor and father figure in his life.
He noted that much of his personal growth came from the years he spent learning under the actor’s guidance, making the loss particularly difficult to bear.
During another emotional segment of his tribute, Miracle spoke about the significant influence Alexx had on his journey through life.
He disclosed that many of the achievements and stability he enjoys today were made possible through the actor’s support and encouragement.
He further stated that Alexx’s impact extended far beyond the workplace, adding that the late movie star played a major role in shaping his character, teaching him discipline, and helping to define the values and perspective with which he approaches life.
