A Nigerian woman, Ifeoluwa Ayodeji-Ogunbeji, who is based in Ireland, has expressed strong reactions after a rare video surfaced showing how Alexx Ekubo’s wife was shielded by close associates during her husband’s service of songs.
The Nollywood industry and fans were thrown into mourning following the death of Alexx Ekubo on May 11, 2026, after a battle with metastatic kidney cancer.
A service of songs was held in honour of the late actor on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Monarch Event Centre in Lagos. The solemn gathering drew celebrities, colleagues, and family members who came together to pay their respects and mourn the loss.
Following the ceremony, a video reposted by @metronaija on X captured a moment where close friends were seen protecting the actor’s wife from public attention at the event.

Reacting to the clip, the woman identified on X as @ifeaboyeji condemned the decision to circulate such footage online, expressing frustration over the breach of privacy.
She said: “With all these efforts, some useless people still released her full picture all over the internet. You guys are really heartless!!! You have no iota of compassion in you.”
In the aftermath of the video’s circulation, some Nigerians also began sharing images of the actor’s alleged wife, a woman the family had reportedly kept away from the public eye until his passing.
