The winner of the BBNaija Level Up edition, Phyna, has sparked widespread reactions online after revealing that the father of former BBNaija star, Ilebaye Odiniya, has reportedly been released from police custody.
The social media influencer took to her X handle on May 9, 2026, to disclose that Ilebaye’s father had been freed and that her two younger brothers had also been returned to him.
Phyna expressed frustration over what she described as the Nigerian Police’s failure to carry out a thorough investigation before releasing Ilebaye Odiniya’s family members following allegations that they assaulted her at home.
She wrote: “Baye’s dad just got released and the 2 younger brothers given back to him…. Please, what kind of style is this one, no investigation, no proper investigation, you left him to go home.”
The reality TV star strongly called for justice for Ilebaye, questioning the rationale behind the police’s swift decision to release individuals allegedly linked to the assault.
She added: “Everything was going well, and before we know a female DPO came and ask that he is released, let’s tag the Nigeria police, Baye does not deserve this, immediately the police on duty last night went home the once that came this morning released him. We need justice for Illebaye. Will go live on ig shortly.”
For those who may have missed earlier reports, the winner of the 2023 BBNaija All Stars edition, Ilebaye Odiniya, was allegedly assaulted by her father and siblings in the early hours of Saturday.
The reality TV star reportedly went live on Instagram, pleading for a door to be opened while appearing with a swollen face and allegedly still being physically attacked by some men in the house.
