Social media commentator and outspoken critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), found himself at the center of widespread online discussions on Friday, June 12, 2026, following reports alleging that he had been arrested.
The unconfirmed reports spread rapidly across social media platforms, particularly Facebook, where they generated concern and prompted numerous reactions from users.
The speculation surfaced shortly after VeryDarkMan participated in a June 12 demonstration in Abuja, where he protested against the growing insecurity in the nation’s capital.
Veteran Nigerian actor Emeka Ike was reportedly among the notable figures who took part in the protest.
During the gathering, the actor made an emotional appeal to authorities, urging urgent intervention to address the security challenges facing residents.
“Pease don’t let this go too far. It might be your children tomorrow. Our children may not be there today, but somebody’s child is there. Please, let’s stop this killing,” Emeka Ike said in part.

In a brief statement shared on his social media accounts, Adeyanju dismissed the reports, stating unequivocally: “VDM not arrested.”
