A recent video capturing Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, alongside former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, at an event has triggered a wave of reactions across social media.
Charly Boy, a well-known Nigerian musician, has come under intense online criticism following his interaction with Peter Obi during their exchange of pleasantries at the lively gathering.
In the viral footage, Charly Boy was seen dancing to the music playing at the venue while standing close to Peter Obi, who also appeared to be in high spirits.
As Peter Obi leaned forward in a respectful gesture to greet him, Charly Boy responded with a hug and playfully placed his hand on his head.
However, the act of touching the head of the former Labour Party Presidential Candidate did not sit well with a segment of social media users, who strongly condemned the gesture and described it as disrespectful.
While some netizens viewed the moment as a harmless and playful interaction between both men, others insisted that touching Peter Obi’s head was inappropriate, despite the friendly context in which it occurred.
