The Nigerian music industry has reportedly suffered another loss following the death of emerging singer Oju Ika during an alleged robbery incident in Lagos.
The young artiste was said to have lost his life after suspected robbers attacked a serviced apartment along the Joke Ayo/Ikola Alagbado axis in the early hours of Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
The incident was disclosed by fellow musician Bolisco, who shared details of what reportedly happened in an Instagram video.
Oju Ika allegedly stabbed during robbery
According to Bolisco’s account, the suspected robbers stormed the serviced apartment where he and members of his team were staying.
The attackers reportedly made away with several valuables, including mobile phones and gold chains.
However, the incident allegedly became more serious when Oju Ika, who was described as an associate of Bolisco, was attacked by the robbers.
The singer was reportedly stabbed during the incident.
Following the attack, Oju Ika was rushed to a medical facility where he received emergency treatment as efforts were made to save his life.
Unfortunately, he was subsequently confirmed dead.
Police reportedly investigate incident
The reported robbery and death have since been brought to the attention of the Lagos State Police Command.
An investigation is reportedly underway as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
The death has sparked concern among those familiar with the emerging singer and members of the Nigerian music community.
