A promising young model and chef, Ibrahim Mbaya, popularly known as Ibee, has died after reportedly being subjected to a brutal mob attack in Jos, Plateau State, over an allegation that he stole an iPhone.
Ibee reportedly passed away at a hospital in Jos after suffering serious injuries during the assault, which occurred on Sunday, 26 July 2026, in the Ring Road area of Jos North Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly began after the young creative was accused of stealing an iPhone. Ibee, who was participating in the Mr. and Miss Glam Nigeria 2026 pageant, was said to have denied the allegation.
However, instead of allowing the matter to be handled through the appropriate legal process and reporting him to law enforcement authorities, a group of individuals allegedly attacked him using various weapons.
The 2026 pageant contestant had established himself within creative circles through his modelling career, while also pursuing his passion for cooking as a chef.
News of his death has reportedly caused massive shock among his fans and members of the wider community.
The circumstances surrounding the attack have also sparked questions, with many people seeking answers over what led to the assault and whether the allegation involving the iPhone was actually true.
Following his death, friends, fans and followers have flooded social media with calls for those allegedly involved in the attack to be identified, arrested and prosecuted.
