As preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has begun making moves ahead of the exercise, with three aspirants already securing the party’s presidential nomination forms.
Between Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, no fewer than three presidential hopefuls obtained the ADC’s presidential ticket forms, signaling their intention to emerge as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 general election.
The List of ADC Presidential Aspirants
1. Mohammed Hayatu-Deen
Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, one of the leading contenders in the ADC presidential primary, became the first aspirant to obtain the party’s nomination form. He also pledged to address insecurity, create job opportunities, and ease the burden of the rising cost of living on millions of Nigerians.
The presidential aspirant was the first to receive the nomination form from the ADC National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo. Supporters of his campaign described the development as a clear sign of growing support and momentum behind his ambition.
According to a statement released by his media team on Friday, May 8, Hayatu-Deen stressed that the forthcoming general elections should focus on restoring economic stability and improving security across the country.
2. Rotimi Amaechi
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi was reportedly the second aspirant to purchase the ADC presidential nomination form ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
The development was announced in a post shared on the ADC’s social media platform:
“His Excellency Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi picked the Presidential Nomination Form of the African Democratic Congress at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. The form was picked by his excellency chief John Oyegun in the company of former Minister of Environment Mohammed Abdullahi, Senator Nura Abatemi, Hon. Asita, Ike Bishop Okoronkwo(CEO Bishop plus media services), alongside other notable Nigerians and political stakeholders.”

3. Atiku Abubakar
On Saturday, May 9, the ADC confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar paid ₦90 million via bank transfer for the purchase of his presidential nomination form ahead of the party’s primary election.
The party disclosed this in a statement shared on its social media platforms, adding that Atiku had already received a payment receipt confirming the transaction.
