Comrade Umukoro Efemena has provided new details regarding Usman Nuhu, the officer accused of killing an upcoming singer, Oghenemine, in Delta State.
The case has continued to generate widespread attention, with new revelations emerging online.
Past allegations resurface
Amid the ongoing controversy, a video of an old petition reportedly filed against Nuhu has surfaced, raising further concerns about his conduct.
The petition is said to highlight previous complaints about his alleged behaviour while in service.
Claims about incident involving Oghenemine
Speaking during an appearance on Breakfast Extra, Efemena described Nuhu as an officer with a troubling history.
He alleged that Nuhu did not give Oghenemine the opportunity to explain himself or take him to Jesse, where he had reportedly picked up a parcel containing a firearm meant for delivery.
Alleged misconduct in previous posting
Efemena further claimed that Nuhu had previously served in Jesse, where many residents were already familiar with his alleged questionable activities.
He added that the officer had been linked to a case involving an alleged ₦2.5 million bribe to suppress an incident at his former station.
Previous complaint and transfer
The activist also revealed that he had earlier filed a petition against Nuhu with the Commissioner of Police over his alleged actions in Jesse, which reportedly led to the officer’s transfer.
He maintained that more facts could have emerged if Oghenemine had been allowed to lead authorities to the source of the firearm.
