Top Nollywood figures, including Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Joke Silva, have been named as part of the entertainment committee for the 2026 National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally.
The event, organised by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, is themed “The Power of 10 Million: One Voice! One Movement!! One Choice!!!” and is expected to bring together women from different parts of Nigeria.
Event details and expectations
According to organisers, the rally is scheduled to hold on May 5, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Announcing the committee, organisers highlighted its role in delivering engaging and memorable entertainment segments during the gathering.
“As we count down to The Power of 10 Million: One Voice! One Movement!! One Choice!!, we proudly present the Entertainment Committee… charged with bringing energy, culture, creativity and unforgettable moments to this historic national gathering,” the statement read.
They further noted that the team would be responsible for coordinating performances and overall entertainment experiences at the rally.
Committee leadership and members
The entertainment committee will be headed by chairpersons, including Rahama Sadau, Eniola Badmus, Ngozi Okoh, and Tola Akerele.
Other members listed on the committee include Rukkaiya Mohammed, Aisha Humairah, Rashida Maisaa, Halima Oyelade, Funke Adesiyan, Fausat Balogun, Toyin Adegbola, Fati Niger, Remi Oshodi, Sola Kosoko, and Esther Wright.
Broader organising team
The wider planning structure also features notable women such as Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Hannatu Musawa, Rachael Umahi, and Ramatu Tijani.
The rally is expected to be a large-scale gathering celebrating women’s empowerment, with entertainment playing a key role in engaging participants.
