Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, the national president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has debunked allegations that he met with former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, MC Oluomo addressed a viral photo of him with Obi and clarified that it was edited.
“I have taken notice of a manipulated image and false news report circulating on social media, particularly in the northern part of Nigeria,” he said.
Oluomo also refuted the reports claiming that Obi paid homage to him and vowed to work with him.
“I categorically state that this report is entirely false and has no basis. Multiple fact-checking platforms and blogs have already debunked this claim, revealing that the image had been photoshopped. There is no evidence of any meeting or congratulatory message from Peter Obi to me,” he said.
Oluomo, who disclosed he was currently out of his country, pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu.
“I am currently abroad, and any claims suggesting otherwise are baseless. I urge the public to disregard this false news and rely on credible sources of information. I reaffirm my support for HE Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Hope Agenda,” he added.
MC Oluomo is known to be a staunch supporter of Tinubu, with the NURTW boss endorsing the president’s son, Seyi, for the next governor of Lagos state.
