The Saudi Arabia government has opened applications for its 2026 scholarship programme, offering both fully-funded and partial opportunities to international students, including Nigerians, across various fields of study.
Fully-Funded Opportunities for International Students
According to details from the kingdom’s education authorities, applications will first be reviewed by the selected institutions before final approval in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The fully-funded scholarships cover tuition and other academic expenses, giving non-Saudi students access to universities, colleges, and specialised institutes across the country without paying school fees.
The initiative aims to attract global talent and promote cultural and academic exchange.
Applicants are expected to meet academic and regulatory requirements, including submitting certificates, transcripts, and recommendation letters.
Partial Scholarships and Other Study Options
For candidates who may not secure full funding, partial scholarships are also available.
These reduce tuition costs while still providing access to quality education in Saudi institutions. Selection is based on merit, academic performance, and course suitability.
Additionally, paid study programmes are offered for those willing to sponsor their education, provided they meet admission requirements.
Application Process and Course Selection
Interested applicants are required to register on the official portal and upload all necessary documents. Candidates can choose up to 25 courses and rank them based on preference.
Visa Options for Successful Applicants
The programme includes structured visa pathways. Short-term visas are available for study or training lasting up to six months, including language and exchange programmes.
Long-term visas are designed for degree programmes such as bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD studies.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, possess a valid passport, and provide proof of admission, financial capability, and medical clearance where required.
Access to Globally Recognised Institutions
Saudi Arabia is home to more than 50 public and private universities recognised globally, offering diverse programmes tailored to meet labour market demands and develop skilled graduates.
The scholarship programme presents a significant opportunity for students seeking international education and career advancement.
