A Nigerian father was left devastated after discovering that his wife had inflated their daughter’s school fees, taking more money than required.
The man’s emotional outburst was captured on video, which quickly went viral and garnered sympathetic reactions.
In a video posted by X user @AsakyGRN, the man claimed that his wife had collected N480,000 from him for their daughter’s fees, but he found out that the actual school fees was N145,000.
He narrated that his wife had inquired about several schools and he was aware of their fees, but she had opted for a more expensive school, reiterating her desire to give their daughter the best life.
According to the man, he discovered the inflation when he went to pick up his daughter from school and was discussing the assignments, only to be informed that the school fees was N145,000.
He was devastated by the discovery and felt compelled to confront his wife about the matter.
The man also raised concerns about his wife’s spending habits, noting that she had been buying clothes and claiming they were gifts from a friend abroad.
He expressed pain and doubt about the future of their marriage, seeking advice from others who may have had similar experiences.
In his words:
“Please men don’t allow your wife to register your child in school. I just had to go pick up my daughter Aria from school. I had to go alone so I can confirm the real school fees. My wife collected N480,000 but she paid N145,000.
“So how it all happened was she made inquiry from three schools and I got to know their fees. She now said let’s give our daughter the best life which is the school of N480,000. Today I was complaining about the assignments, I said I can’t be paying N480,000 and they will be giving me assignment.
“They now say no their school fees is N145,000. I was in shock that’s why I went alone. Mama Aria did not go with us. I just had to park somewhere to think about my life. Do you guys think I should continue in this marriage because I’m going up to confront her. She has been buying clothes and said is her friend abroad that sent them to her. Men learn from my experience. I’m in pain right now.”
