Elsie Okpocha, the former wife of Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, has reacted to viral reports claiming to reveal the reason behind the collapse of their marriage.
The rumours, which have been making rounds on social media, alleged that their separation was caused by paternity issues, alleging that the comedian was not the biological father of her children.
Responding via her Instagram story, Elsie questioned the credibility of the reports and challenged whether Basketmouth was aware of such claim.
She wrote:
“All you Facebook bloggers fabricating lies. Is Basketmouth aware he made that statement??”
She didn’t stop there, as she also issued a firm warning to those spreading the narrative.
While acknowledging that public figures are often targets of false stories, she stressed that her children should not be involved.
“You can make up unimaginable stories about me, but please leave my kids out of this nonsense!” she added.
As of now, Basketmouth has not addressed the allegation.
It would be recalled that in 2023, the comedian announced the end of his marriage to Elsie in a short statement on Instagram, noting that they would continue to co-parent peacefully while asking for privacy.
