Nigerian film star Funke Akindele has sparked fresh reactions online after appearing to respond quietly to Toyin Abraham’s vow not to greet her again.
Recall that Toyin Abraham made it clear that she would no longer exchange pleasantries with Funke following an awkward moment between them at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere.
The situation unfolded at the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s film ‘Return of Arinzo’ , where Toyin approached Funke, tapped her, and said, “Aunty Funke, good evening ma.”
However, Funke did not respond and instead kept her face in a fixed position looking straight, leaving Toyin visibly embarrassed as she walked off.
The clip from the event quickly spread online, drawing criticism from many who faulted Funke’s reaction and described it as unfriendly. A few others also supported Funke, hailing her for not pretending to be cool with a perceived rival.
In response, Toyin later reacted in the comment section of a blog post that shared the video.
She revealed she had unfollowed Funke Akindele on Instagram and insisted she would never greet her again.
In a now-deleted comment, she wrote:
“I have unfollowed her, God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastarrd.”
Funke, on her part, did not issue a direct statement but caught attention after liking the same post that featured Toyin’s remark, a move that has since fueled more conversations across social media.
