The All Progressives Congress successfully wrapped up its fourth elective national convention on Friday at Eagle Square, Abuja ushering in a new set of national executives to manage the party’s affairs.
The exercise saw Professor Nentawe Yilwatda returned as national chairman, while Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru emerged as national secretary.
Their emergence was ratified by the convention’s election committee through a consensus arrangement.

The convention drew high-profile figures, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, Godswill Akpabio, and Tajudeen Abbas.
Delegates from across the country participated in the process, endorsing members of the National Working Committee who will steer the party forward.
Speaking on the outcome, Felix Morka noted that the exercise reflected the party’s unity and focus on inclusive leadership.
“This convention reflects our resolve to strengthen party structures and ensure inclusive leadership for all regions of the country,” Morka stated.
The newly elected officials are expected to oversee party programmes, coordinate activities nationwide, and strengthen the party’s position ahead of the incoming 2027 elections.
