A Nigerian man has spoken up after a video of his failed marriage proposal went viral, sparking widespread debate on social media.

In his words:
“Wow, I know some of you are saying all manner of things on the net now that I am a very proud person.”
He revealed that he had been receiving heavy insults online since the video surfaced.
Defending his actions, he said he had always done everything right for his girlfriend and had his personal reasons for not kneeling. He added that negative comments from social media users did not bother him.
The viral incident has divided Nigerians, with some supporting the woman’s stance while others argued that kneeling should not define true love.
