Peter Okoye, one half of the legendary music duo P-Square, has publicly fired back at his twin brother, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, after facing criticism over his viral “who Naija language help” remark.
Speaking in a recent video, Peter confronted the controversy directly, revealing that he had already apologized on the same platform where he made the original statement.
Despite extending that apology, Peter declared that he was no longer willing to overlook what he described as repeated public attacks from his brother.
“At this point I’m done being Mr Nice Guy,” he said bluntly. “It’s aura for aura. I’m gonna start giving you the same energy.”
Peter admitted that many people would likely interpret his response as childish or accuse him of creating unnecessary drama. Nevertheless, he stressed that such opinions no longer matter to him.
Peter Opens Up About the 2021 Reunion
Addressing more than the latest disagreement, Peter also shared his version of events surrounding the highly publicized November 2021 reunion that thrilled P-Square fans. According to him, the reconciliation was never genuine.
He explained that after completing a three-month tour across Canada and the United States, he was on his way back to Nigeria on 17 November 2021 when, just minutes before landing in Lagos, he was informed that Paul had arrived at his home around 4 a.m.
The unexpected visit reportedly frightened his wife, Lala, who felt unsafe enough to record what happened.
Peter said that by the time he eventually got home, members of Paul’s team were already there alongside people from his own camp.
According to Peter, the embrace that later took place between the brothers that evening was encouraged by those around them rather than being the result of a sincere reconciliation. Shortly after, footage of the hug spread rapidly across social media.
Peter further recalled that the next morning he released his music video titled I Love You, featuring Teni, Simi and Tamar Braxton, before Paul arrived at his residence.
He claimed that once Paul found out about the release, disagreements resurfaced almost immediately because of concerns over competing projects.
Peter Insists He Never Wanted P-Square to Return
Peter also disclosed that he made his intentions clear to Paul that same day, telling him that while he wanted to restore their relationship as brothers, he had no desire to reunite as P-Square.
He recalled saying: “P-Square, I am done. Maybe in future, right now I’m done.”
He said Paul’s reaction left him puzzled. Peter added that when they later recorded a joint video for fans, neither of them identified themselves as P-Square.
Instead, Paul introduced himself by saying “I’m Rudeboy,” while Peter said “I’m Mr P.” Peter argued that this alone demonstrated there had been no true reunion as a music group.
“I never wanted P-Square. “All I wanted was for the brothers to come back as family.” He said.
Peter also challenged social media users to produce any video showing him publicly attacking or attempting to discredit Paul, Jude, or any other member of their family.
He maintained that the repeated provocations have consistently originated from the other side.
