Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu has broken his silence over growing concerns about his health, revealing that a fire incident at his home was responsible for the visible burns on his lips and hand, while also clarifying that his noticeable weight loss was a deliberate health decision and not a sign of illness.
The singer, who has been navigating life since the passing of his twin brother Taiwo, appeared in a recent video that circulated widely on social media, looking visibly slimmer with burns on his lips and one hand, prompting an outpouring of concern from fans and followers.
Addressing the situation directly, Adegbodu confirmed the fire incident but explained that he had chosen not to publicise it online, noting that it was minor and had since healed.
On his weight loss, he revealed that friends and well-wishers, including those living abroad, reached out after Taiwo’s death and encouraged him to take better care of his health, particularly his weight.
He said he took that advice seriously and has been working on himself since then, adding that he can now fit into clothes he had long set aside.
He also firmly dismissed rumours linking his appearance to excessive alcohol consumption, describing such claims as false.
In his words:
“To everyone worried about me, I am very okay and medically fit. I had a minor fire accident in the house, but I decided not to post it on social media. It affected my left hand and some parts of my face, including my lips.
It was not a spiritual attack. Everyone has one or two things they are battling with medically and spiritually. Just remember me in your prayers. To those saying my alcohol consumption is too much, alcohol didn’t cause the fire.
I lost some weight because of my health. When Taiwo passed away, people called me and said my stomach was too big and that I should work on it. I am not sick.”
