A thrift vendor identified as Ogechukwu Oragwa has shared her reasons for staying away from Pastor Jerry Eze’s New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD), explaining why she finds it difficult to connect with the popular online prayer platform and its style of prayer.
The Christian woman expressed her views while asking social media users to recommend alternative prayer channels that could help her rebuild her consistency in morning devotion.
Lady explains why she avoids Pastor Jerry’s prayer pattern
In a Facebook post made on June 19, Ogechukwu disclosed that she was searching for a morning prayer platform similar to NSPPD, but one without what she described as the intense “fire fire” prayer approach.
She explained that Pastor Jerry’s manner of leading prayers triggers memories that leave her uncomfortable, noting that she had attempted to participate on a few occasions but could not continue.
According to Ogechukwu, she grew up in a household where her parents frequently moved from one prayer house to another.
As a result, the style of prayer commonly associated with NSPPD reminds her of experiences from her childhood that she would rather not revisit.
In her words: “I am searching for prayer channels to join for morning prayers!
“My morning prayer life have been [expletive] lately and I need a prayer channel I can join ..
“Prayer channels like NSPPD, but not the fire fire type abeg, I don’t want NSPPD because pst Jerry prayer style gives me PTSD ( no offense) joined a couple of times and just couldn’t keep up ..
“Born and brought up in a home where my parents went from one prayer house to another, the fire fire go be like i Dey relive my childhood trauma abeg ..😌😌😌 “Help me.”
Her post quickly attracted attention online, with several social media users offering suggestions and sharing similar experiences.
