A Nigerian man identified on TikTok as Maziikengaarocomedy has shared a video showing the venue and early preparations for the burial of late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo.
A few days earlier, a service of songs was held in Lagos State in remembrance of the late movie star.
The event was attended by several of his colleagues in the film industry, relatives, and other celebrities who gathered to honour his memory.
It is no longer news that Alexx Ekubo, the talented Nigerian actor, reportedly died at the age of 40 due to complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
The sad news of his passing sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, triggering an outpouring of tributes and condolences from celebrities and fans across social media.
Ahead of his burial, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, the TikTok influencer, Maziikengaarocomedy, gave a first-hand look at the venue where the funeral of the Nollywood actor is expected to take place.
In the video, several canopies had already been mounted for the ceremony, while posters of the late actor were also displayed around the area.
The man filming the video remarked that the amount of money reportedly spent on Alexx Ekubo’s burial arrangements could have been used to feed an entire community in Abia State.
He further expressed disappointment that such extensive preparations were being made not for a celebration of life, but for the burial of an actor who passed away at a relatively young age.
A woman featured in the video also stated that Alexx Ekubo was deeply loved, pointing to the scale of preparations as evidence of the respect and honour being given to him in his final farewell.
