Gospel singer Gaise Baba met with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and his wife, Folu, at a religious event in the UK.
The meeting comes weeks after the cleric gave a nod to the gospel Afro-fusion artist by featuring his version of the classic hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” during RCCG’s 73rd annual convention.
A video from the convention also captured the moment Pastor Adeboye gave the church choir a go-ahead to sing Gaise Baba’s version, stirring an emotional reaction from the singer.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, an excited Gaise Baba shared a picture of himself on his knees as he greeted Adeboye.
Another picture showed the moment Adeboye’s wife laid hands on the gospel singer’s head in prayer. Reacting to the special moments, Gaise Baba signalled it was an approval of his music genre, ‘Afrogospel.’
He wrote in a caption:
“Follow God; e get why Afrogospel – God is in this!”
