A man identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @klintoncod has shared videos detailing his encounter with Ghanaian referee, Daniel Laryea on the streets of Morocco.
Laryea became a subject of discussion online due to the controversial manner he officiated Nigeria vs Morocco match on Wednesday, 14th January 2026.
Many Nigerians accused him of being biased and favouring Morocco in the game, sparking outrage online.

In light of this, @klintoncod who is currently in Morocco shared a video showing the moment he bumped into the referee, eliciting a quick discussion.
@klintoncod humorously informed the referee that Nigerians weren’t happy with him and in response, he avowed that it’s part of football.
Sharing a video of their encounter, he wrote:
“I found our referee from yesterday’s match o. I know what street guys would have expected from me but i am a peaceful guy 😀.”
In a follow-up post, @klintoncod spoke more on what transpired between him and the referee. He noted that the referee never came into the match with intentions to victimized Nigerians as people claim.
He noted that referees make mistakes and Daniel Laryea’s isn’t exempted.
@klintoncod noted that upon further conversations with the referee, he realized that he has a clean heart towards Nigerians.
He added that the Nigeria vs Ghana beef didn’t affect the game as what exists is merely banter.
