Nigerian politician and veteran businessman, Ned Nwoko, has come under criticism online following his recent post celebrating Mother’s Day.
The former House of Representatives member took to his Instagram page on Sunday, May 10, 2026, to mark Mother’s Day, where he praised the strength, resilience, and grace of mothers across Nigeria and around the world.
In his message, he also acknowledged all the mothers of his children, appreciating their care, sacrifice, and commitment to nurturing the next generation.
He further paid tribute to women from his hometown, the Anioma women, whom he described as a strong source of support that has played a role in shaping his journey and achievements in life.
He wrote:
“Today, I celebrate the strength, grace, and quiet resilience of women across Nigeria and around the world. Mothers are the steady hands that hold families together, the voices of wisdom in times of uncertainty, and the enduring force behind the growth of every society.
To the mothers of my children, I extend my heartfelt appreciation. Your care, sacrifice, and commitment to nurturing the next generation do not go unnoticed. You remain central to all that truly matters.
To my dear Anioma women, your unwavering support, belief, and encouragement have carried me this far. You have stood firm through every season, and I do not take that loyalty for granted.
Women are not just part of society, they are its foundation, its strength, and its conscience. Where women thrive, communities prosper.
Today, and always, I celebrate you.”
